Cooperation on waste management and packaging technologies arranged

Spicy salsa, pure honey and high-quality spirits from Mexico could enrich the range of German retail products in the future. In Mexico, on the other hand, companies operating municipal waste separation plants and those in the development of new biodegradable packaging want to make use of German know-how. This was arranged between 17 managers from the Latin American country with their German partners during their four-week participation in the manager training program of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) "Fit for Partnership with Germany" in Dresden.

With guidance from GICON InTraBid GmbH, the Mexican managers and decision-makers prepared themselves thoroughly for their business meetings in Germany, and also gained insights into the management and structures of small and medium-sized companies during group visits to IMM electronics GmbH in Mittweida, and to Obstland Dürrweitzen AG. "Everything we have learned here helps us to make business with German partners possible in the first place or better," said Mariana Mercadillo in summarizing the opinion of the group. This knowledge enabled her, for example, to initiate a joint venture with the Amor Group, in which her company will manufacture silver jewellery for the South American market and thus open up new distribution channels for Amor.

During the four-week period, 20 cooperation agreements were concluded between the Mexican managers and German companies. These provide for an import and export volume of currently 1.2 million euros for joint business over the next six months.
